My GSD (German Shepherd) used this pre and post operative while on antibiotics …ask your vet!
I am a medical physician (not a veterinarian). The only probiotic I recommend for my (human) patients is Hyperbiotics Pro-15 Advanced Formula. You can see my review on Amazon.My 60-pound female GSD (German Shepherd) was scheduled for an ovarian-uterine hysterectomy and the week before the surgery she obtained a CBC-platelet count blood test at which time the vet said that my dog may require post-op antibiotics. I immediately started Hyperbiotics-Pet (2 pearls/day).After surgery the vet said she needed antibiotics for 10 days………….at which point I increased the Hyperbiotics-Pet to 3 pearl/tablets every day for 10 days. During those 10 days my GSD developed a small incisional abscess and the vet changed the antibiotic to a different antibiotic after completing the first antibiotic…. for another 10 days. I continued the Hyperbiotics-Pet at 3 pearls/tablets per day during the entire time she took the second antibiotic. I then reduced the dosage to 2 pearls/tablets per day for 1 week after completing her 3-week course of antibiotics. I then reduced her dosage to 1 pearl/day.During the entire time …. I looked at every one of her stools/feces to make certain she never developed diarrhea, which she never developed (from Clostridium perfringes or C. difficile, etc.). She never became septic nor developed any systemic symptoms. She only wanted to run and play during her post-op period after post-op day 2 which was a trial for us…………… to keep her quiet the first week.Yes, I know my dog took a total of 60 pearls (2-month supply) during her time on antibiotics and more during the pre and post antibiotic period. Remember I am NOT a veterinarian and never follow my recommendations for any pet/canine member of your family. Never follow any of my experiences and always ask your veterinarian and also note my dog weighs 30 kg/60 pounds.I am simply describing my experience with what I know, yes know……………. She is doing well and absolutely no loose stools/diarrhea because of Hyperbiotics-Pet and I am thankful I had this on hand at the time of her operation. I would suggest for you to ask your vet about Hyperbiotics-Pet before any operation and any time your pet/canine takes any antibiotic.FYI, I gave an empty container of Hyperbiotics-Pet to my vet. The vet said this will be recommended to all pet owners when pets undergo operations that require antibiotics or when they receive antibiotic for over 3 days.

BEST. CAT. PROBIOTIC. EVER!
I have had many cats over the years and always tried probiotics with questionable results. This one works because it is encapsulated in a tiny round “pearl” that protects it from stomach acid allowing the various probiotic strains to survive and actually reach the cat’s intestine where it can thrive and work. Every other pet probiotic is either a powder form or comes in an acid resistant capsule. But if you open the capsule to put it in the food you lose the protectiveness.My two year old cat was a stray kitten with several types of worms for which she was treated and cleared. Her stools were a biological weapon on the odor scale. Seriously. No food allergies or gut issues and other probiotics made only a minor improvement. After giving her PRO-Pets twice her stools were small and very low odor. Her food is now being fully and properly digested and her gut is working healthily. I now give my cats one “pearl” weekly on the top of their wet food. They typically swallow it and don’t bite it. I recommend you don’t waste your money on any other pet probiotic and give this a try for your cat or dog. Just as with humans, having a health gut flora is critical for good health in pets. PRO-Pets is different than anything else and truly works and is worth the investment in your pets’ health.

This is a good company. I take the human probiotics and had great probiotics but has a minimal amount of soy which I do not appreciate. So I am on the search for another pet probiotics.

Life saver!
This has been a life saver for our 3+ year old ragdoll/siamese mix. He’s had runny poops since he was a kitten and as long as he gets one of these every day, he has normal poops with no issues. Considering the long hair, it’s soo nice not to have to clean his butt on a daily basis.No digestion issues. We toss it on the counter and he swallows it with no problems.Definitely a game changer for the momma!

Invaluable I couldn’t do without
Let me just say I was so impressed with the people version of these that I decided to get them foe my dogs. They work great to boost your immune system and keep you from catching colds so why not pass that immunity on to your fur-babies. I had referred these to a friend with two little kids, who was constantly catching what they came home with. I asked her how she liked them and she said she didn’t notice a difference, but then I asked when was the last time you got sick? She said “Ahhh, your right, I haven’t been.” Less doctor visits, Less vet visits is proof they are working. It’s nice they don’t upset your stomach at all and are so subtle you may not notice they are working until everyone around you is getting a cold and you aren’t. I would recommend these to anyone for both people and dogs. The dog version must have a good flavor cause my dogs will eat them no problem. There is a dosage guide on the bottle that goes by weight.

No so great for picky kitties
I thought that, if I buried the little pearls in enough wet food or fish oil, my cat wouldn’t care that there was something beef-flavored in her bowl. Unfortunately, I’ll often find it outside of her bowl because she’s picked it out, or she’s managed to eat around it. I think she’d be more agreeable to taking it if it had a poultry or fish flavor, so maybe some different flavor options are coming down the line? Otherwise, I will try a different brand when we’re out of these. Good concept, though. I’m sure it works great for dogs. Red meat is just not something that cats often seek out, flavor-wise.

Super impressed with this! It’s really easy to feed my cat. Instead of using a pill gun, this pearl can be toss into her mouth and it just rolls down without the need to force it down. Makes feeding so much easier.
