Put it in the washer (cold water)
You lay it out under the high chair or booster seat. Baby eats. Baby drops food on floor, it it lands on the mat, mostly.Splat mat can go thru the clothes washer (cold water). Your floor can’t.Dryer, not so good an idea, but it hang dries very quickly in California.

It does the job
I got this mat for my sensory table. This really helps with the mess my preschoolers does with water and sand play.its very durability, slip resistance, and the color is a light greenish color.

Good size, well made, washes well. I will probably buy another one. It would be nice to leave one in the car for meals out or a picnic. We brought it to dinner at a restaurant and the staff was so appreciative that we were easily able to assist with clean-up.

It works, but bunches up easily
We recently had our hardwoods resurfaced so I was looking for a mat to protect them as our infant is just starting solids and in that very messy stage. The mat looks nice, is decent quality, and nothing really sticks to it making it easy to wipe down. I do like that it can be thrown into the washer.However, for daily use, it is pretty much the equivalent of putting a blanket down. It is very thin and bunches up easily. Sweeping it is difficult because it keeps moving. With an infant, I’m not looking to do laundry every day so I would have preferred a more solid mat that I could easily sweep and run a Swiffer over. This mat gets the job done, but I would swap it out if I ever found something better.

To quantify, I’ve had 4 square ones, but need a larger one. Thus desperately wanted to love this… but it’s just wrong! The material isn’t the usual splat mat material… this one is more akin to cardboard, and since it’s got that cardboard stiffness, there’s NO WAY that it’s anti-slip (didn’t test for water resistance). This does not even grip the floor, it floats above it a good mm around the edges, which is a real shuffling and tripping hazard. Cannot recommend this, returned immediately.
