“THIS THING IS AWESOME!!!!” Said a bird, probably.
This thing works GREAT, I now have the cleanest birds in town!!! Matter of fact, I may have ALL the birds in town! Problem is, now I want to spend money and do something ELABORATE.Okay, i had an established bird bath, so that’s why it got popular so fast, they already kind of knew there was a stagnant puddle of water in my back yard that almost always had water in it. I’d fill it when i water the flowers and I could shoot water down from my deck (i’m on a hill) to the bird bath without actually walking down there if i noticed it was low or getting dry. However, it wasn’t fresh and clean, stagnant water is going to do what it does. It’s a flower-shaped cement bird bath on a stand, it was here when I bought the house, but I moved it to to the back yard because I don’t need EXTRA deer in my front yard, there’s enough as is.So, I dragged an old galvanized tub from the basement (also left here when I bought this place, I threw away a lot of junk, but that tub seemed useful so I kept it), put the bird bath and the stand INSIDE the tub, hooked up this pump, and just ran the hose up to the bird bath, added water and VOILA. The water trickles from the bird bath down into the tub and recycles.I used wire cutters and cut a length of wire clothes hanger, and ran it into the last 15 inches or so of hose, so i could bend the hose around the edge of bird bath and up through a couple of rocks without kinking the hose. That works GREAT. I also added two 10’ lengths of extension cord (cheaper from another brand, just look at the connections in the pictures on amazon and make sure you’re getting ones that match), so my solar panel is about 30’ away from the pump. I needed to get it into the sun and not get shaded by the oaks too early in the day. The instructions say not to add more lengths than that, the resistance probably builds up and decreases how much power gets to the pump, but 30’ was plenty for me anyway.I have the solar panel facing southwest, at about a 45 degree angle, which too much of an angle based on my latitude but it works for the hillside. I just so happened to be up and out on the deck early this morning right before sunrise, the pump was not running (as expected) and the SECOND the sun came up in the east, that thing started going! Facing AWAY from the sun! I was REALLY impressed! In the afternoon, when the sun is hitting the panel straight-on, the water shoots out of the hose a couple of inches higher, but the fact that it works even a little with the sun behind it, was impressive to me.Naturally, I fell down the google hole about how to make my bird bath more attractive to birds and sorted out that the individual “petals” of the flower-shaped bird bath were probably too deep for itsy bitsy birdy feet (Shout out to the 80’s gen X’ers who sang “great green gobs” on numerous yellow bus rides). So, i walked around the back property and collected a bunch of little rocks and added those to the bird bath to give them more places to stand and make the petals less deep. I used to like those deep parts because it made my bird bath have water for longer, they would be the last places to dry up, but now with the pump and 30 gallons or so of water in the galvanized tub, that’s not a problem.I balanced some left over patio pavers on the edges of the tub to keep the splashing water in, and, in case you haven’t already concluded, this thing is looking pretty random and cobbled together at this point… so, now I want to spend some money and actually do a “water feature” and dig things into the ground and go crazy. The birds, it’s important to note, don’t care about style, they’re value investors and they LOVE it. Sometimes there are six of them in there, with a few taking full on baths, the others drinking and thinking about life, and yelling at each other to move over. I’ve got finches, wrens, doves, wood peckers and lots of bees (there’s a wild hive in a log down the hill and my neighbors have a bunch of bee boxes too). My dad, an avid bird watcher, always asks me what kinds of birds I have, I tell him i mostly have LBB’s… he was intrigued that I knew a bird he didn’t know of, until I told him that LBB stands for “Little Brown Birds” HA!! Gotcha, Dad!!!I don’t FEED the birds, I don’t need seeds and poop and whatever ensues from THAT mess. I prefer that they eat bugs and they are, in fact, eating the heck out of bugs, so, it’s totally working out for me. Plus, they’re hydrated and clean, highly entertaining, and the sound of the water trickling is excellent. Apparently the sound is what draws more birds in. That and whatever social media birds do, someone probably posted a bird review and gave it some stars, because now they’re ALL here!Anyway, for 30 bucks or whatever, this pump is the JAM. It works great, the birds love it, and the entire process and the results are all highly entertaining. But now I need a bird GoFundMe so I can build this out and make an entire birdy water park. It’s a slippery slope, folks! Someone talk me out of it!!

    Amazing customer service!!
I chose Poposoap solar fountain because it said the solar has a back up battery and it also has good ratings on other websites. When I received mine it was packaged beautifully, everything was secure and the small items were in little zip baggies. It is made of a good quality plastic and the panel is a very nice quality too. It was super easy to set up and once I plugged it in to the solar panel it started running immediately, BUT if I put my hand in front of the panel it would stop running, I figured it might need to be in the sun for a few days to “charge” but even after a few days it still was not running in a shadow. I contacted their customer service, which by the way they have several ways to contact them: Chat on their website, e-mail or call …. yes, you can call them AND they answer!! BONUS: I had to hang up while waiting for customer service due to a situation at home and THEY CALLED ME BACK (unheard of) I am so impressed with their customer service, they are really nice and professional. They instructed me what to do about my fountain not working (send some information via e-mail) and they always get back within 24 hrs. and stated they would be sending me a new solar pump, that these have a 1 year warranty on them …. again, I don’t think any other company does that. I would HIGHLY recommend this company and their products to everyone – Kudos to you Poposoap for being such an amazing company! I will update with a video once I get my fountain up and running.**UPDATE**Here is a video of the new solar fountain that Poposoap sent, as you can see it is working perfectly in the shade, but it will not run once night falls. These solar fountains are powerful for the size they are, I had to put a little regulator in mine to slow the water flow down just a bit. I am extremely happy with the product and super impressed with this company / I can’t say enough about the customer service-unmatched!!

I recommend this product if you want to tune up your Water Fountain!
Purchased for my Water Fountain and works perfect!Durability: So far is working very well, just the battery is not enough to keep it working 24 hours, but while there is sun during the day the works very well (At the end at the middle of the night nobody is coming to see the water fountain LOL)Fit: This product fits perfectly my expectations, the seller has the same product with bigger power Solar Panel but for my project this one work very well.Water Clarity: The system is coming with a filter for the water, so just should be cleaning or replacing it when is dirty.Functionality: This product is perfect for a Water Fountain.Value for money: Very affordable price for this product.I recommend this product if you want to tune up your Water Fountain!

The battery backup in this product is awful so if you expect it to run as soon as the sun goes off the solar panel you will be very disappointed, I bought this for that reason and the sun is on the panel from 9am through to 7pm and as soon as the sun goes behind the trees it stops.Really misleading and I gave it two stars because you have loads of fountain options but if it wasn’t for that it would have got one star.

I had some difficulty with setting it up intially but it’s going well now. If you are going to use it for a diy water feature, note that when the pump switches off, water and debris or gravel sucks back into the pump! A small piece of gravel lodged into the pump on the first use and I was so confused as to why it wasn’t working! My husband advised to get a check valve at the end to stop the back flow when the pump switches off. The pump has allowed me to make a nice water feature for my back garden.

After about 5 days use in my very small pond in the front yard, and with the panel in full sun. It intermittently turns on and off but just trickles out the top of the nozzle. I’ve requested a refund and am returning this item.

Why did you choose this product over others?:I chose this one due to it having a back up battery. Granted we have not had very much sun since I received it yesterday but the late afternoon sun came out today. Still it is sporadic. Going off and on like my old one without back up battery. I am disappointed. I will try it until we get a full sunny day then decide whether to keep it or not. Also not sure why I have some random pieces for the flow. Two pointy things that don’t seem to have a function, plus don’t see the point of the foam disc. The instructions are dire. Overall not the super piece of kit I was expecting for this price.
