No more worries
Love these collars! My babies like to play a bit rough sometimes. I bought them all these because…one time I saw one of the babies had his mouth stuck on my other babies collar and was flinging him around, they were both wining, we got them loose… thank goodness! From time to time we now find there collar off but they just click back together… after we find them lol. I’ve also had one babies stuck on a fence post hanging, you really need this collar! Thank you!

Wouldn’t break away
I was initially very disappointed in this purchase. Was bought for my 11 week old rottweiler pup. Call me paranoid, but I don’t want to risk her strangling herself with a collar. At the same time, she needs to get used to wearing a “necklace” so she can be leash trained. I was sure this was the solution.I couldn’t make it pop open by hand. I’m not exaggerating when I say I pulled HARD with both hands to try to make it break away. I eventually hooked it over my foot and pulled, that made it pop. But there was no way I was putting that on my pup. Just as reassurance that it’s not a weakness issue, I can hold back my six year old male rottweiler with a leash when he sees a rabbit.My husband found it in the trash. After he pulled it apart, yes he could make it open, he agreed that it wasn’t safe. He used a rotary tool to grind some of the plastic away. It now pops open with (my best guess) about 8-10 pounds of pressure.Zena is now the new owner of a bright red collar. She currently hates it, not gonna lie, but she hasn’t been able to scratch it off, yet. For those that worry, yes it’s removed at night until she decides to accept it. Hopefully soon, I will be able to start her leash training.I’m very confused over why a break away collar would be made to be that difficult to actually break away. Benefit of the doubt, maybe I got a defect. If you have the ability to grind/sand the end to loosen it, then I recommend taking the chance. Keeping my pup safe is worth it. But be sure to test it before use.I ultimately gave it four stars because I don’t have the knowledge or skills to make my own and it was relatively easy to fix. But I couldn’t, in all fairness, give a full five stars.

We buy these all the time for our dogs. A bit of a learning curve. You have to get used to the fact that they come off if you grab them by the collar. And you have to warn others that this happens – that’s what they are made for. Every pet should have one – Even if they are inside dogs there are so many things they can get caught on. Their tags can slip through Floor vents, kennels, deck boards, or the other dog’s collar causing them to get caught. GET ONE!

Busqué este tipo de collar por todos lados y solo lo encontré en Amazon. Tengo dos perros que se la pasan jugando y se jalan del collar a cada rato, ya hace tiempo había visto que muchos se llegan a atorar y al jalar para destrabarse llegan a axfixiar al otro perro o al quedarse solos en casa se atoran de alguna manera y se jalan provocando el mismo resultado. Es un problema mucho más común de lo que se piensa y no entiendo como es tan difícil encontrar collares asi.El collar no sólo es muy bonito y de buena calidad, funciona muy bien y tiene un precio excelente. Lo recomiendo muchísimo! Las tallas recomendadas por el vendedor inicialmente me parecieron chicas pero al ver otros comentarios decidí hacerles caso. En efecto las tallas recomendadas son correctas, no hay necesidad de pedir más grandes.

Okay, edited version, 4.5 stars. These are very good collars, the break free ones. Only thing is, the ring for the dog tags is very thin plastic and the tags ripped off someplace, which is very annoying. Should be replaced with a metal ring.Last collar lasted five years, part of the break away part snapped off. Not a big deal in my case as I use a halter for the dog while walking, and the collar just for ID purposes, but still.
