My Dog Actually Loves These
I’ve tried a few calming treats for my dog, but these Hemp Calming Chews are by far the best so far! First off, my dog loves the chicken flavor — no hiding them in peanut butter or playing treat games. He eats them like a snack. What really impressed me is the blend of ingredients — it’s packed with good stuff like hemp oil, chamomile, ashwagandha, and even turmeric and ginger for joint support. It’s like a full wellness treat, not just a calming aid.I also noticed he’s more relaxed during loud noises and doesn’t pace as much after taken the chews. And the best part — no drowsy side effects or weird behavior changes.Compared to some of the big-name brands, this one is way more affordable and has more active ingredients. I’ll update this review once we finish the two packs to see how it works long-term — so far, so good!

Our dog loves them AND they calm her down
Our 7 year old Golden Retriever is terrified of storms, fireworks, loud noises and several other things. The poor girl shakes, pants heavily, get antsy and just shows that she’s upset. These calming chews are great! First, she really likes them as a treat (but we only give them when needed). Second, when we know bad weather is coming or something noisy is going to be happening, we’ll give her 3 or 4 of these (which is the appropriate dosage for her weight). Within 20 minutes, we can tell they’re taking effect and usually 10 minutes after that, she’ll be napping or really groggy. More importantly, she’s calm despite the outside conditions. The only negative I can think of is they do appear to make her thirsty or dry mouthed. She laps the air and works her tongue around for a couple minutes after eating which didn’t happen with other calming chews we’ve given her. That said, we like them for her and will keep them on hand for sure.

Dogs enjoy them and no upset stomachs.
I’m not sure if they help with stress and anxiety just yet, but I do know my gaggle of pups loves to hear these being opened. They’re bite sized and perfectly shaped for practicing our daily training. The dogs love them. They don’t have a potent smell and have not upset any of our dog’s stomachs. They give treat recommendations on the size of dog and amount of daily treats which is great for our gaggle ranging from 10lbs to 100lbs. One of our dogs is a Heeler and quite anxiety ridden and stressed. I’ll be interested to see if long-term daily use of these helps her. The largest dog we have is an XL Bully who definitely needs the joint support, so either way, we will find these useful. The container was packed full and I think a good price for as many as received. We also use them in our smart food trays and in our kong treat balls.

My dog likes these!
My dog really likes the taste of these. She is always happy to take them. For the most part she is pretty calm, but she does get anxious sometimes. When she does, I give her one of these. I can’t tell that it necessarily calms her, but she definitely likes them, and willingly takes them.

My picky chiweenie says “five stars!”
My dog somehow always knows when a package is for her. She got super excited when this one was delivered. I opened it up and it was factory safety sealed which I really appreciate. The seal was amazingly strong and honestly a little tough to get off….a pull tab would have been appreciated! They’re cute little soft treats in the shape of a heart. They don’t smell bad at all which I can’t say the same for her normal treats (zukes). You’d have thought I was giving her fresh chicken based on how quickly she ate it. Today might not be the most ideal day to give my thoughts on her behavior and energy levels after trying the calming treat since we’re in the middle of a move so she’s all out of sorts. However, she did calmly lay in her crate while we were running around getting things accomplished. Normally she’d be under our feet being a nervous wreck….so this might bode well for the effectiveness. I’ll update this after she’s had a few of them to give my final opinion. I LOVE the ingredients list though….it’s healthier than what I eat! And at least when initially opening the jar these treats might actually be soft enough to use to hide pills in them. I’ll have to try that next. So far so good!

Works for my high strung dog!
Tbh – I kinda gave up on “calming” supplements. I have a malinois mix, so he’s suspicious of everything, high strung, and needs more exercise than a horse. These supplements aren’t a substitute for exercise, training, or mental stimulation of course, but some days he’s just EXTRA stressed, like when we had huge water trucks in our neighborhood for two weeks, making all kinds of noises, people walking around our front yard – too much excitement. I gave him the recommended dose and …half an hour later he was snoozing on his bed. With people still outside working. What!! Tramadol doesn’t work on this dog. Ok, we go to his training session – he’s terrified of the vet after a bad experience and we’re working up to him seeing a new Dr. For the first time in 6 (!!!) months – seeing his trainer every 2 weeks – he relaxed. At the vet. Sat down and let our trainer give him a full body rub, which is a first. I’m sold. Nik is just a very high strung dog, it’s part of his breed – police dogs and all that – I’m so, so happy to have found something that can take a little bit of the edge off for him so he can relax!! His stomach is delicate, and he gets really bad um…y’know …the runs from certain treats …these he gobbles up like they’re ambrosia, and no tummy issues!! They’re going to be a staple in our anti anxiety toolbox for him. Every dog is different, but these are worth a shot if you’ve tried other types with no success!
