Like clock work! Now the food gets stuck occasionally but it’s an easy fix. It’s aesthetically pleasing too.

Try a different model of automatic feeder.
Don’t purchase this item. Set up was not that complicated to me, but it died after about 2 months of use. Kept it plugged in so was not a power problem. Save your money and pick another one to try.

Good enough! Decent for the price!
Got this for my grandma who has dementia and has a hard time remembering if she fed her dog and has been over feeding.Upon opening the box, everything looks great! Works as intended.Some things left to be desired…1. Wish the cord was longer. Had to use an extension cord to place where I wanted.2. Wish it didn’t take the D-Batteries (not required/only for backup purposes for power outage).3. Instructions could more clear as to what a “portion” means on measurements (i.e. meal 1 set at portion 4 is approximately 1/2 cup). I had to do the math and a test run to figure it out.4. I’m not a huge fan of the 24 hour military time clock but I guess it leaves less for mistakes “A.M.” vs. “P.M.”Pros:1. Overall it works & dispenses properly2. The capacity is a decent size for holding a good amount of dog kibble.3. The lid locks for pets that might have a desire to try to tip it over to help themselves to free kibble (have not tried to tip it over so haven’t tested)4. The screen locks so pets/people can’t accidentally change anything unless you press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds.5. I love the clear food tank so you can see when it needs to be refilled and not have to open the lid to check every so often unnecessarily!Side Note:1. Each “Meal” (programs up to 6 meals per day) has a MAX portion of “8” which is approximately 1 cup dispensed at one dispensed meal time.2. Do not throw away the Silica Gel/Charcoal packet (a.k.a. “Desiccant” the instruction manual refers to) that comes in the box. It goes in the chamber on the underside of the lid to prevent molding.

Automatic cat feeder
This was a life saver. When we go on vacation, I don’t have to work that my outside cat won’t be fed. I feed him twice a day but I also have someone come check to make sure the feeder was working every other day. And there were no missed days of feeding. I do recommend you plug it in verses the batteries (it used 3 D batteries) as they don’t last very long in hot or cold weather. And you need an extension cord for outside as the cable is not very long. I feed my older cat outside under the porch and on an old picnic table which is extremely heavy to move. So, I needed a long cord in order to plug it in. The feeder works great and is very easy to program.

Randomly does not work
The manual feed option randomly does not work. After doing all of the trouble shooting provided by the maker, I emailed them. The troubleshooting guide says they respond within 24 hours. So far no response and it’s well over 24 hours. I am now questioning the reliability of the entire unit. I’ve used the feeder maybe half a dozen times. I’m disappointed

My dog loves it
My pup lives his life like clockwork so he loves having his meals at the same time everyday. I don’t have to set alarms on my phone anymore, or worry about rushing home to make sure he can eat dinner on time. Having this also helps to regulate their potty schedule. I completely recommend. You can schedule up to six meals, my pup only gets two. And you can select the portion amount.Every time he hears the food getting dispensed he sprints over! It’s so cute.
