Sturdy, Tangle-Free Leash That Handles Zoomies
This leash is great! It feels sturdy even in my small hands, retracts smoothly, and really is tangle-free. My toy poodle can get the zoomies out of nowhere, and this leash handles it perfectly while keeping him safe. The reflective design is a nice bonus for evening walks.

Great leash. The retractable functionality is reliable and durable. A lot of people frown on retractable leashes, but I’ve had multiple back surgeries and I really need the leeway this gives me when my dog pulls unexpectedly so that I don’t have to take that jolt in my back. I’ve never had a problem with it jamming or being glitchy. It works very well. I’ve bought several of these to have around. I understand the recommendation for non-retractable leashes. But if you really need to use one like I do, this is a very nice one. I’m very happy with it.

This is my second tug. The first lasted over two years but the strap got so frayed that it interfered with the retraction. This one seems more robust in its construction.

Ease of use is good
Have had it for a week and change, and rather happy with it. Comfortable to carry, leash is tough and clasp strength has been good. Easy of use is good, though the lock function has been tricky a few times. Overall great value, but I could see issues if the wrong size is purchased.

Superior walking experience
I’ve tried several brands to walk my 90lb Belgium malinois. This brand is heavy duty, retracts easily, and stops the dog on a dime.I highly recommend this product to use if you have a large curious dog to walk!

The absolute best retractable leash for larger dogs
We’ve had the Tug Large reflective retractable leash for 4 years and it’s still going strong! Would definitely recommend and repurchase. The bright yellow reflective line is flat, never snags, the retraction is always smooth. We have a 60lb dog and this is the only leash I trust, locked or loose. The only minor wish is that a poop bag holder would easily attach. I tie 3 bags on the handle.

Love these tug leads, compared to other retractable leads this is superior by far. The button to lock and hold the lead is so easy to use, both to lock and release. The lead retracts so smoothly and easily compared to most others. A decent length to enable recall to be practised before trying off leash. The colour of the lead itself makes it nice and easy to spot too. Fantastic for wheelchair users as my dog can have a little room to get out of my way by going in front or behind the wheelchair when space is too tight for her to stay next to my side. Also works great when I need her to heel to my right rather than my left without the lead getting caught or becoming too tight or too loose. They are also incredibly durable – my last dog had one that lasted well over 5 years, my helpers all say it’s much more comfortable in their hands than others I have had in the past with a nice balanced weight. A little more expensive than some cheap ones but the difference in quality is so great that they are definitely really good value for money.

This would be 5 star for the 1st lead that came in a box and had a extension to prevent chewing but not the 2nd I bought as a gift.I loved it so much I bought a friend one but it came in a bag and missed the extra parts. Not knowing is the actual expectation means it is 3 star for what you can get as it is a lottery but the actual lead is excellent.The unit is not too heavy and the mechanics are very fluent. The bright lead stops you tripping over and is good for dusk walks and being visible.
