The Clipper itself is a reliable and practical tool for keeping my dog’s nails at the right length. The spring-loaded, plier-style design makes trimming efficient, even on a squirmy pup. It has sharp, quality steel blades with non-slip handles that provide good control—not always easy when a paw slips. Heavy duty and safe clippers
These dog nail clippers work really well. They actually have quite a good weight to them which I was not expecting. The grip feels really good in the hand and they are very sharp and cut through thick nails really well. I did also try to use them on my kitten, but I think they’re more intended for dogs And bigger nails of the heavy duty use. And my kittens, tiny nails it was hard to see exactly where the nail was in the cutter so I felt a little uncomfortable using it. For my dogs, it’s perfect.They have a silicone cover that goes over the Sharp part which is nice to keep it protected and safe one not in use. There is no locking mechanism on them, so you need to be sure not to lose the cover.

Dog nail clippers w/ guard are large & sharp, and the guard prevents serious mistakes
I got these nail clippers because they’re large and have a nail trim “guard”. My dogs are large-breed dogs, so their nails are pretty big. The size and sharpness of these nail clippers definitely helps with cutting their nails. The nail trim guard, however, does not prevent potentially cutting the quick of your dog’s nails (the fleshy interior). The guard is only effective at preventing boo-boos if your dog’s nails are long and if you angle the trimmers in the right way. I made the mistake of trimming my dog’s nails a couple of weeks after her first trim. Her nails had not grown out a huge amount, and she yelped in pain for a couple of her nail trims. She didn’t bleed, but it must have still been too close for comfort.Nevertheless, I like having the guard in place to prevent any *serious* nail ouchies. Anyone who trims dog nails probably knows that dogs don’t like the activity, and they will struggle to keep their paws away. The nail guard is a good preventative against any serious issues. So, overall, I’d recommend these dog nail clippers.

Great Quality, Very Sturdy, Non-Slip Grip
Super heavy duty nail clipper. I didn’t know they made them this sturdy. The other ones I have must be cheaper, because they don’t work as well as these. I will say my dogs are small, so maybe I didn’t need something this sturdy, but nice to have and they do work great. My dogs aren’t fans of getting their nails clipped, so I don’t often do it myself, but mostly because I would struggle with the other clippers. These make it much easier, because it speeds up the process a bit. I love the grip that keeps them from sliding or changing position in your hand. My dogs are squirmy and that definitely helps. I also suggest keeping the silicone cover just to keep them clean.
