Outward Hound PoochPouch & Puppak Carrier
When you have a dachshund, or, in my case, a mini dachshund (or any dog with a long back), you have to be very careful about what type of carrier you use. Your puppy or adult has to be able to lay down in the carrier to prevent back injuries with those long backs. Carriers where they have to sit up are just not very comfortable or safe for a long back puppy. Now, finding carriers that allow this is not as easy as one would think. Not many carriers actually allow them to lie down like this. When I saw this carrier, I knew it was one I would need to try. My puppy is only 13 weeks old (9 weeks when I got her) so I could not put her on a leash and just walk her as she was not fully vaccinated and our vet said not until she is 22 weeks old. This means, a lot of carrying puppy in my future. I needed a carrier. This one works and is comfortable for both of us!I put a blanket inside to give her something soft to lay on, and throw a couple of her favorite toys inside and she is happy.PROS:The carrier has a collar/harness clip inside to hook to her harness to keep her safe and prevent her from jumping out. There is a very nice, large pocket on it where you could keep training treats, your keys, or wallet. My phone fits perfectly in this pocket which is very convenient. When she is in the carrier, the shoulder strap is very comfortable for me.The sides are adjustable to make sure she can see, get in and out, and keep her level on my hip. There are nice side vents to allow for air flow through the carrier, not just over it.CONS:I do wish that the adjustable side straps were on the opposite end as the collar/harness clip because she thinks it is a great chew toy but that is the only thing I would see as a con.Overall, I do see it as a great carrier for any puppy but very useful for my mini dachshund and any other long back puppers out there.Would be great if they made it in other colors as well, but the grey is very nice and I cannot complain. If you want a comfortable carrier where your puppy can lie down, this is a great one to try.

    Great Carrier
I have 2, 15 lb Terrier/Chihuahua mutts. They are small, but not THAT small, so I needed something that would be comfortable for both dogs and humans. I don’t like the idea of my dogs sitting/hanging on their butts (like a baby) or hanging by their chest, or hanging at all, really. I like that this bag is roomy enough for the dogs to sit comfortably with their heads out, it has a sturdy flat bottom/floor for the dog’s comfort, and I like the wide straps for my comfort. The cross straps in the back and waist strap are perfect for me.I am a bit overweight with a large chest (I am 5’3″ and wear a size 12/14 US women’s) and there is still some give on the straps. I would imagine someone who is maybe around a size 20+ in US Women’s or a very large man might not be able to use this bag as the staps would not have enough length.I personally would not use this bag on my back – I think there is too much room for the dog to jump out…. and my dogs are feisty enough to where they would try! But if your dog is really chill, wearing it backwards might be fine.Anyway, I bought one and now I’m buying a second one!

Criss Cross the straps in the back!!!
So at first I was just putting the straps on with my dog in front, it pulled my shoulders and wanted to fall off. I watched a video, and duhhh….You need to cross the straps in the back before you hook them. Makes a world of difference. Also order a size up, I got the medium for an 11lb Pomeranian and he barely fits in it. I need the large but it’s out of stock. Otherwise it seems well made.

    Great idea with some challenges
Thought this was a great idea to carry the pooch around in. Took it on a couple trips, and wanted to share some information with folks so they know what they’re getting. Thoughts:1) Our dog is 11.5 pounds (very small Boston Terrier) and could only sit, not lay down in the pack while strapped on. This leads me to recommend the backpack only for the smallest of dogs.2) There is a hook at the top of the pack on the inside and a quick-detach on the outside. Presumably, one is to hold the top flap open while the other attaches to the dog’s collar. Great idea, poor execution: there’s no support on the floor of the backpack so when you put the dog in, it collapses around them. There’s no play on the backside of the pack – it’s attached to the human’s back. But when the pack collapses down, the front becomes too loose and, without some way to keep her in, our dog was nearly falling out. Ah! But put this little clip on and she’ll be just fine right? No: it chokes the dog because the clip is not long enough (and not elastic). What’s really required here is a hard-bottom support mechanism so the animal can sit without the bag collapsing around them. I’m not sure this wouldn’t happen with even the smallest of dogs.To see what I mean, try this: take a standard shopping bag and hold both of the handles with one finger. Holding the bag open, it may stay there on its own accord; but drop a can of soup in, and, without proper sturdiness on the bottom, the can simply collapses the entire bag. Now, imagine putting a small plank of wood on the bottom: you can stack several cans. I hope that makes sense.3) Because of #’s 1 and 2, our poor pup had to be rather compressed inside with the top zipped up. The material allows air through, but it would have been perfect if she could have just hung her head out, checking people out and making a scene.4) The bags on the front and side were great for holding treats, doggie dropping bags, leash, etc…All in all, there’s few things like it so I’m not upset I bought it. I will likely find a bigger backpack and modify it for our purposes though: 11.5 pounds is bigger than we thought… 🙂

Súper buena compra. Mi perrita es una maltipoo de 6kg y cabe perfecto en la mochilita. Me ha resultado muy útil en lugares donde no puede andar suelta. La mochila es resistente

I had to resell because the bottom of it didn’t support my puppy. We tried to put some hard cardboard in but it still didn’t work.A great idea though just needs a bit more support at the base.

Very comfortable to wear with 3 adjustable straps. A great product. A suggestion: A little hook or a side pouch would be perfect to put the poo bags or lead into while walk. But I just tucked them behind the bag against my chest.

Gesucht wurde ein stabiler Hunderucksack für einen 4 kg-Pinscher.Dieses Teil ist höchstens für einen Welpen geeignet.Viel zu klein und zu schlabbrig.
