A good dental treat for my aggressive chewer
These edible dental chews clean my puppy’s teeth nicely and freshens his breath. He loves the taste and the nubby texture, but the chews don’t last long. They’re pretty easy for him to demolish quickly. He’s still teething and is an aggressive chewer, so he has other tougher longer lasting chews, and I consider Nutri Dent more of a treat. Based on my puppy’s size and weight I tried the small size, and the medium, and they’re gone in minutes. So I got the “large/giant” size for dogs 30 to 50 pounds. LOL! he’s a 9-pound shih tzu pekingese mix with a big mouth, and these are great for him (see my pics). So my advice is to get the chews that match the dog’s mouth and how aggressively he chews, not his overall body size.

Great item for use as a dog treat on a daily routine. I mainly give one to my dog when he’s in his own or crate. He is able to go through one in about 2 minutes or so.It’s pretty dense and hard, it doesn’t have that soft texture that would bend or break, but it’s still soft enough for them to chew it.The “spike” area of the bone can help with scraping food or stains on the teeth, at least I think it can.It’s hard to tell if it’s working for the teeth solely as I use other things in conjunction with this product. However, my dog does seem to enjoy these chews and I’ve observed no adverse reactions from him digesting them.For reference, my dog is a Border Collie about 41 pounds. He’s also considered a heavy chewer so these things are an easy snack for him.Another thing to note, there isn’t any noticable smell with the chew as well. You can tell it has a meat smell if you really sniff it, but just touching it doesn’t leave any lingering smell on your fingers.

Did not last long
Honestly purchased 2 of these for a German shepherd, and a year old Labrador. The German shepherd actually ate this in a half hour it was gone. The Labrador chewed it a bit and wasn’t interested. The shepherd did get sick after devouring it.

Gone in 60 seconds?
My one bully-breed dog took less than a minute to crack off a piece almost too big for him to swallow, so I had to take it away. My other dog is a more gentle chewer, and it took her about 6 minutes to start breaking off pieces. These were the XL, which I thought was a chew toy like some of the other Nylabones, but it’s clear that these are meant to be eaten. Way too big for a treat, and breaks off into pieces large enough to choke a dog. I see now a warning ” Supervise the use of all edible chews to ensure that your dog does not bite off pieces too large to swallow”. How the heck am I supposed to do that, this literally happened right in front of me and was down his gullet before I could even move. These are dangerous, I would not recommend.

My dogs turn down a lot of treats. But they love these. And I am glad to give these good-quality treats to them. I appreciate the change in product packaging. I thought the bag inside of a box was a bit wasteful. I appreciate just receiving the sturdy bag of treats with the zipper close.

Dogs ate it in minutes
Nylabone is the only company we buy chew toys from because they are the best. Ordered these thinking they were the hard bone style. They are hard, but some sort of material that breaks off and is more like a greenie than a traditional nylabone. Dogs loved them….and ate them in minutes. Nice item, but not for more than 10 minutes.
