Great soft treats, super pricing
Soft and chewy. Good for a few treats, training or otherwise. I give 3 at a time to my 16 year old rescue.

Perfect size treats for small dogs and easy to chew!
My min pin loves these treats! Soft, and not too small and not too big! You can even break these in half if you needed to!

Missing Best Before date
A very good product that I purchase every month via Subscribe & Save, but this month the package has no Best Before date anywhere, and I mean we looked every place. I am not too keen on feeding our dog any food item that has no such date! For all I know, it could be very old, out-of-date stock that is being shipped to unsuspecting customers. I have attached an image showing a package I have on hand (on the right) with the date clearly visible, and on the left is the package in question with no date. I don’t feel confident or comfortable enough to say, “oh, it’s probably okay”, and then proceed to feed him the treats. I would like the company to send me a replacement.–> Edit In: I guess no one from Merrick reads these reviews, as it is now 12 days since I complained about there being no Best Before date on the dog treats I received. I thought that someone from their Customer Service department might read through these comments and take appropriate action when and where it seems called for. Seems that not stamping a Best By date on a food product would be something Merrick should show some concern about. I could have complained to Amazon, but they’re not the ones who manufacture this item. Maybe not buying Merrick products in the future is the only recourse a customer has.–> 2nd Edit In: One year later and I have continued to purchase this item regularly for my GSD and I have not encountered the “not stamping of the Best By date” again. Conclusion being it is not an on-going issue for this company, and my canine is super pleased that he is still getting his Merrick Treats!–> 3rd Edit In: Product is now sold in a stand up pouch that has Best By date clearly marked in white on the bottom of the bag. Also, GSD wants me to note that he loves these treats. :)–> 4rd Edit In: Why do manufacturers always think they need to change something about a product in order to retain consumer loyalty? Recently, they changed the shape of the snacks to resemble small stars. They are harder to separate, and the old-style “chunks” had a bit more substance to them. The package weight has not changed (still 6 oz) but I believe these new stars are smaller. So, I suppose, more of them, is what the marketing geniuses decided was so attractive. Wish they would just leave well-enough alone! I did ask German Shepherd, and he has no opinion… as long as I keep the treats flowing in his direction.–> 5th Edit In: Factory packaging (zip lock bags) seem to have gotten cheaper in quality, i.e. they tend to tear with repeated opening and closing. I solved this annoying development by reusing a large-size supplement bottle. Simply pour the bag’s treat contents into the bottle with screw cap, and no more messing around with opening and closing a cheaply-made zip closure. Once again, dog doesn’t care… just wants the goods! 🙂

My two girls absolutely love these I bought them specifically because they don’t have rosemary extract in them because of my rottie girl having seizures

Pups loves these treats !
PugMamaPDX –
Great treats! New, unadvertised larger treat size. 🙁
We used to adore these treats for our pug. Grain-free, decent ingredients and he loves the strong smell and taste – they are one of the few treats that get his attention and he doesn’t get sick of. I’ve been buying them from Amazon regularly for a quite a while. They have always been a very small size – excellent for training treats. This month that changed and that is when they lost 2 stars. While that may be Amazon’s fault (not Merrick’s), I wanted to let you folks know.We received our usual order and noticed right away that the treats are quite a bit larger – see my pictures for reference. They are now advertised as “medium sized tasty morsels” and there’s some advertising for the other (new?) sizes on the back of the bag. You’ll notice the differences in the package and the treats in my pictures. As of today, Amazon still has the pictures and info. for the original, older product that apparently isn’t what they’re sending out. It bums me out that the product changes aren’t reflected here, nor did we have the opportunity to change our subscription order (which we’re always waiting on arriving, rationing treats) before it was sent.Apparently the smaller size is still available – it’s branded as Merrick’s “Li’l Plates” dog treats. Although we will pay the same $ for less product – $5.04 for 5 oz. -vs- $5.09 for 6oz. Typical for the ripoff that often occurs with “small dog” branded products.TL ;DRIf you aren’t attached to the smaller size these treats used to be and you don’t mind the incorrect nutrition/product information on Amazon (as of 12/3/17), they really are fantastic grain-free treats. Your dog will probably love them.
The best treat to give my dog And the best seller to purchase from –
Best treat for my Rottweiler he loves it
Christine Butt –
My dog likes them . Easy to break up and have smaller pieces for puppy training.
ogmrcl –
I use this treat when training my dog. Great texture, not too hard not too soft. Since it’s star-shaped, I break each piece into 5 pieces, so that your dog will not get overfed and it last for a longer time. My dog loves it.

My pup didn’t like these treats.

My puppy loves these. I break them into three to be better suited for training. I find they are a little large in size but he goes crazy for the taste of them. I love they are grain free.
