I give a lot of 4 and 5 star reviews if the item arrives in good shape and does what it is intended for since I pretty much know what I like and what I need to use. Every once in a while an item arrives that would get more stars if it was possible. This cat cave is one such item. I would give it 10 stars if I could!! However, the early negative reviews (2018 through 2022 when I stopped reading) almost scared me off not only due to manufacturing issues but all the negative mentions of “chemical smell” a common complaint for imports early on especially those made from fabric or wood. One could almost faint from the awful smell in some items.It can be suspected there was little concern regarding chemicals being used. Fortunately, the newer reviews for this item showed enough improvement for me to take a chance since it could be sent back if need be and I liked the look and size. My daughter has a nose that smells all the way across town and she did not notice any odor on a recent visit, thank goodness or it would have gone back. Now to the review since I did purchase this cave.My entire adult life has been lived under the management of various felines. Until the present “manager” all the cats took their multiple naps mostly out of sight. I kept a pallet on a closet floor just for their napping privacy. The current resident needs no privacy. He is needy–he needs to nap near me. This means he naps on the bed, on the sofa, on top of the recliner, in a chair or on my lap, on his cat tree or behind the computer. Another great spot was in an Amazon.com delivery box from which he could see me. Yep, a cardboard box right in plain sight in the living room across from my desk.Several times I would search Amazon to find an item that would replace those Amazon boxes but found nothing I thought would get him to change his boxy ways. I wanted a natural fiber; no man made fibers like polyester would work for him (really would not work of me) so that eliminated much of what was being offered. It also had to look good, at least better than (apologies Amazon) those boxes. It also had to be washable. I also had to overcome my concern about switching off his beloved box!On a recent search I found this MEOWFIA Premium Felt Cat Bed Cave. It is advertised to be 100% free from harsh chemicals and synthetic materials. It is 100% merino wool felt. The wool is from New Zealand, a country that seems organic whether it is fully so or not! By the second descriptive point my complete attention was perked. It looked good. It came in two sizes. It is handmade in Nepal. It seemed perfect! It is perfect. My kitty weighs 8.5 pounds so I ordered him the medium but would definitely consider the large for any future purchases. It arrives folded but is a heavy wool felt so mine popped right back into shape. It arrives with a blue wool ball which can also be purchased separately.I cautiously removed the latest Amazon.com box and placed the cat cave down in the box’s place. Then I waited. But not for long. He smelled it a couple of times when he casually strolled by. On the third walk-by he half-way got in, stayed half in for a couple of minutes before retreating. Well all that was hopeful since it was getting a lot of attention. Finally that evening he crawled in. He now spends as much time in it as he did the box so Mom is happy. He can use the inside or he can crunch it and sit on it, either way works for me because that box is gone–replaced with this attractive wool cat cave. It is worth the money. I love it!! Kitty decided to like it. We are both happy. The end!!

This is my second purchase of this wool cat cave (2 different colors). I have 2 cats, and each needed her own so they wouldn’t confront each other over who belongs in the cave. They’re happy!I highly recommend this, as both girls just love it and seem to find it comforting. I bought the medium size, as each kitty weighs less than 9 lbs, & each has plenty of room inside. The caves blend in with decor, and they’re easily moved around since they’re small & lightweight. I love the wool since it’s a natural, durable fiber, & the caves are great quality so they’ll stand up to daily use. Each cave came with a felted wool ball toy which has been a popular plaything.This was a great purchase & I wish I’d bought them sooner. My senior cat is especially fond of curling up in the cave. She has had health issues and feels safe & secure inside. Don’t hesitate. Totally worth it.

Elvis LOVES his!!!
I saw the reviews, so I ordered it for my kitten Elvis. To say that he loves it is an understatement!!! It is still warm outside in TX, so he sleeps on top of it. He occasionally plays inside it with toys. It is beautifully made and Elvis rubs his face on it, rolls on it, claws it, owns it. I ordered the small one first, but realized that it was a big hit, and that this would be a lifelong bed, so I exchanged it for the bigger cave, so my kitty never outgrows it. My husband calls it the cat yurt and suggested that we send them to our cat owning children. Very nicely constructed, beautiful thick wool, absolutely a warm winter bed, yet all season too; kitty immediately took to it. Love the wool ball bonus! Worth every penny! We will be gifting them too!

I love this natural wool cat cave and my cat loves it even more! I ordered the large for my 10# cat, but probably the small would have worked too. This item can become a comfy bed if you push it down. The shape can be changed which makes it cozy as can be and my cat loves curling up in it. She also loves playing with the wool ball that was included. A super fine! I am sure this item will last a long time. An added advantage, it looks cool in my house!!

Sin duda y de lejos, la mejor camita para gatos que he tenido (y he tenido muchísimas). Hace 31 años que tengo gatos y siempre me ha fastidiado que sus camitas o casitas no estuvieran en la misma línea de calidad o de estética, con el resto de la decoración del hogar. Soy bastante tiquismiquis con esas cosas y me gusta que todo tenga cierta armonía.Por fin una casita bonita y que a ellos les gusta.Llega plegada sobre sí misma y atada con una cuerda, metida en una bolsa para ocupar poco espacio, así que cuando la sacas de la bolsa está algo arrugada, pero la verdad es que si la ayudas a coger su forma original y la dejas al aire unas horas, la forma queda perfecta, como se puede apreciar en las fotos.No puedo estar más enamorada de estas casitas. Y el hecho de que sean de lana y de que estén hechas a mano, para mí es un plus plus plus.Las recomiendo sin dudar.

These cat cocoons are so beautiful, sturdy and hold their shape right out of the package. Each come with a little wool ball toy which my cats also came to really love to play with.Overall fantastic buy!
