Kitty approved with easy storage
This magic organ cat scratcher is a really fun toy for the kitties. They love that it’s a toy as well as a scratching board. Once they got some more intense scratching in, it did limit the ease of manipulation between shapes, but they like it anyway. It also took a few weeks before it started to get dents and dings in the toy. It has two main ways it can be set up and it compacts down to a very modest little size if you want to store it away if you rotate toys out like we do. It does slide on the hard floors a bit if they get really into it. But the magnets are strong and keep it coiled through play! I actually put a tennis ball in the center which gave it some extra structure but you would be fine without doing that.

Not worth it
My cat has no interest in it. She barely looks at it and the magnets come apart. It is small. There is no way she could play with it like the ads say.

Not worth the money
Good cat toys can be hard to find, and each cat is different so it might work better for another cat. But, my cat who will play with just about anything became bored with this toy pretty quickly. Perhaps if I had bought two and joined them together she would have enjoyed it more, but honestly I didn’t want to spend the money. Especially since this one isn’t that well made. The magnet isn’t that strong, so it easily comes apart. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Intriguing and ever-changing toy is more fun for our cat!
This cardboard cat toy arrived flat in a relatively small box. But when I opened it up and stuck the two ends together magnetically and twisted it around, it became a round torus-like object that rotates around itself. Sometimes it’s a flat yo yo shape, sometimes a fountain shape, and sometimes a flat cake with the ears up (where the ball is hidden underneath it). The little ball fits inside the C shape and doesn’t come out when the toy is put together. This allows the ball to roll around and around the inside of the circle. If I rotate the yo yo shape upright, I can roll the entire thing across the floor, which makes the ball jingle and my cat has to chase it! Hint: you can make the whole thing larger by gently pulling the accordion folds apart and stretching it, so the ring is a little wider.This has turned out to be much more interesting to my cat than her static plastic ring with a ball in it. She loves to bat the ball around and sometimes it ends up on the opposite side of the central pillar so she can no longer see it, which really turns on her hunting mode! And if she leans or pounces on it and changes the shape, where the ball is completely enclosed, she gets really active with it trying to find out where the ball is hiding! She bats at it, bites it, scratches it, kicks it, and plays hockey with it, so it’s great exercise for her. It’s an intriguing and ever-changing toy for her and great fun for us to watch! We leave it in her play area and she comes back to it multiple times a day. This is a winner for us!

Smaller Than You Expect
My house is inhabited by two rather spoiled kitties, both of which are quirkier than any other cats I’ve lived with. Both Zara and Bebe run very hot and cold on toys, so it is impossible to know what will spark in their fuzzy little minds.When this arrived, I was a bit shocked at how small it was. To be fair, the dimensions on the product page are 100% accurate, I just didn’t look closely. I love the idea that this is held in place by magnets, which means when I don’t want it out, it can quickly be folded down. The magnet is plenty strong to keep it together even when fatty-pants Zara is playing with it, which she seems to enjoy when prompted to remember it is on the floor. Bebe looks on with skeptical eyes but has not partaken in playing with it yet. When you first open it up, you’ll want to carefully pull it apart fully to unstick the accordion style baffles. The ball rolls relatively well when the scratcher is in the “up” position. The instructions hint at a catnip packet, but that is not shown anywhere on the product page, so I think that is just offering a suggestion. Because of the fluid nature of the scratcher, it seems like catnip might just be messy.At the time I ordered this, the price was $11 USD, but I see today it is $15. Even at the higher price, I think this is a pretty good price, especially since you also get a ball with it.

My cats had absolutely no interest in this. I even tried putting catnip on it and hiding treats in it.
