Great quality, works great.
Easy to use and sharp! Great quality. At almost $50, it was an indulgent purchase but worked so well, I was glad I indulged.

Great Nail Clipper
I needed to replace my Wustoff nail clipper purchased 8 years ago. The edge was getting dull, making the clipper difficult to trim nails. The Solingen clipper looks exactly like the Wustoff clipper (no longer made), so I purchased it, and glad I did. The stainless steel edge is sharp, the clipper is comfortable to use to trim my nails on my hand and nails on my toes, even with my arthritic hands. The Solingen clipper is pricey, but worth it for a quality, well-made nail clipper. The clipper fits in the leather holder with the cutting edge up, so you need to be very careful when removing it from the holder.

A Real Man’s Clipper
A couple of years ago I bought a ‘toenail’ clipper. I was so positively impressed that later that year I purchased several ‘toenail’ and ‘fingernail’ clippers for family Christmas gifts. These are not like what is found at the big box stores or the drug stores. They are sharp, high quality, long lasting nail clippers. The ‘toenail’ clippers are able to cut through toenails when other (cheaper) brands could not. My spouse recently gifted me with ‘fingernail’ clippers to help me trim my fingernails that are all but non existent due to cancer treatment. The ‘fingernail’ clippers allow close small precise cutting into never ending longitudinal fingernail splits on thin and fragile nails. Although they are pricey, they are worth every penny.

Durable and High Quality
Bought these clippers for trimming fingernails only. The cutting edge is sharp and the edges seem to close all the way.Storage case is a nice addition. The clippers store in the case with the wide cutting edge the up position. There’s enough of the clippers showing to put it in and pull it out by the sides. The case snaps shut and I’ve found that the clippers fit the easiest when you place the lever side towards the back of the case.I gave 4 out of 5 stars because I found the angle of the pivoting lever to be a little difficult to manage. It is hard to keep my thumb on the smooth, polished surface when I am adjusting the cutting edge around my fingernail. Maybe it should have less of an angle? or maybe there could be an additional small cushioned area where the circular imprint is?Overall, I am very pleased with the construction of these clippers and the top notch workmanship. Purchased these clippers in May 2023 and the case looks brand new and the clippers are still going strong.

Great for cold weather
Don’t be a numb skull like me and send it to the wrong address. The dog coat is top notch.

Super bad quality control
Keeping in mind that this little clipper costs over $42, it is quite simply a rip-off. One side if the jaws does not close completely, so that side does not give a crisp clip but an annoying squish. (See image where light is visible on one side while the other side is fully closed.) Solingen quality? Not at all. The leather case is so tight it pulls, and the tab sticks out making it look like junk. (See image where the snap ball does not line up with the detent.) The narrowest part of the case passes over the widest part of the clipper jaws, so that the corners of the clipper jaws stick out. I am quite shocked that the Solingen name has come to this. I never thought I would say you are better off with any cheapo brands rather than this Solingen.

Not suitable for thick or curved toenails
I ordered the large version to use for toenails. Unfortunately the jaw opening is so narrow there is no way to use it for toes. It would work fine for fingernails. If you have thick, curved toenails this won’t work. I think I will buy a Mehaz toenail clipper.

Splendid!
Splendid! Worth every cent. I am old. I hate how NEW problems appear in our modern life amongst all the technology and the plenty and the wonders.Until the last couple of decades, I had lived half a century and don’t think I ever picked up a nail clipper that failed to give a satisfying, sharp “click” sound and “click” feel as it cut the nail with precision that I took for granted. Time was when you would buy perfectly good clippers off of a cardboard display for 25 cents. Nail cutting is not something that I used to think much about so exactly when the mushiness crept in, I can’t say. Maybe I was like a frog being boiled in water slowly rising in temperature. But finally I did notice, and mushy is exactly the word. I threw a pair of clippers in the trash in disgust and rooted around in a drawer or two and pulled out another pair. Same thing! More like mashing than cutting. Bloody awful. I probably found a half dozen clippers around the house (25 cents a pop) and none of them did a decent job.I started searching the drug stores and bought lots of clippers priced from a buck or so up to seven or eight dollars. All of them pretty crummy; the cheapest often being the best. I bought several pairs on Amazon with no better luck.My obsession and frustration grew and grew. A few days ago I was again browsing Amazon’s offering and saw the pricey Finox. I jumped all over it. I am a good Amazon customer and don’t return much relative to what I buy, but I was sure as heck going to return these expensive clippers if they didn’t perform like a precision tool. No worry. The satisfying “click” is back. Lov’em!I will say that I was surprised at how large this clipper is. No problem, though, I am easily able to do fine work on my fingers to keep my nails quite short. (Strange as it may seem, another modern problem for me with most clippers has been that somehow I was not even able to fit them to my fingers for close cuttings. It was not size, it was angles. No problem with these. No problem at all.)

The sharpening and alignment of GERmanikure’s FINOX clipper performs like surgical cutting blades to achieve a quick clean bite. The well designed lever mechanism effortlessly takes down the toughest toe nails. Laser etching on the logo and an engraved stainless steel insignia speaks to the quality of Solingen manufacturing. A bonus feature is the leather case with a textured lining that provides protection for the tool and its finely honed finish. Yes, it does cost more but the trade off is a well engineered product that supports a lifetime guarantee. Combine this with Amazon’s free shipping and prompt delivery service makes it a worthwhile investment.

While it’s an expensive affair, but trust me this is worth it! The best Nail Clipper ever..

It was a tough choice on deciding whether to keep or return the FINOX. The clipper is too large for male and female fingernails. It does not give a smoother rounded cut like a $4 chrome plated nail clipper from a dollar store. It does better with thick toe nails where cheaper and duller chrome plated toe nail clippers chew through rather than cut cleanly. When the cutting edges are compressed together, one of the corners do not bite down to close. In other words, the cutting edges leave a gap at one end. This is not acceptable. The other issue is the FINOX will squeak while cutting. This is caused by the moving upper plate rubbing up and down along the post that connects the moving upper and stationary lower plate. This is due to lack of clearance of the hole to the moving plate. Cheaper finger and toe nail clippers do not squeak. The finish is excellent and it will outlast any chrome plated clipper. The price does not justify the design flaws.I am returning it.
