Good product. Works for a wild Husky.
The one star reviews do not make any sense. I bought mine 2 years ago June 1. I have used it on a high speed, super pull, 70 lbs. Husky apparently powered by Dilithium Crystals!! I have the Giant Large 26 foot.It still functions very well. ( Sometimes it does make an odd clicking) The coil rewinds as rapidly now as it did when purchased. The lock is solid and still holds. The leash is cloth people… if the dog chews it, or it gets caught on something sharp it will cut. (Duh!). It is also fairly easily repaired with simple stitching or tape ( may not retract all the way after tape!).It’s beaten and worn, but 2 years of abuse and it still functions, that is pretty good quality! I am ordering another for use with our St Bernard Pup (Currently about 100 lbs).

The 26-foot tape gives my dog plenty of freedom to explore while still keeping him under control.The one-handed brake, pause, and lock mechanism is a game-changer. It’s smooth, responsive, and intuitive, allowing me to quickly and safely adjust the length with a simple thumb movement. This is a huge benefit in crowded areas or when passing other dogs. Same High Quality / Lighter Weight and Footprint
Great Leash!!! We have 2 90lb Labs and have used the previous Flexi Tape that was much bigger and heavier. They lasted over 3 years of heavy use and in lots of puddles. These new ones are much lighter but still built of high quality materials and feel very sturdy. Just stretch them out to dry.

Freedom to Act Like A Dog!
Trooper and I received his new leash about a month ago and have used it almost every day since. Our typical walk is four miles in just about an hour. Ever since transitioning to the new leash we keep wondering why we didn’t get one of these years ago! After having used a six foot leash all these years, the Flexi Giant is like being let out of jail. ( Not that I would know anything about that feeling.. ). Anyway, let me explain what’s so great about it;I guess the first point to cover is that someone who insists their dog march in lockstep next to them, not waivering in the least, mimicking a tin soldier, will likely never be interested in a leash like this. Why? Because this leash lets a dog act more like a dog than a robot. The Flexi Giant lets your dog explore, doddle a bit, or even run in short bursts without him and the owner constantly being jerked around by a ridiculously short tether.One of the features I appreciate the most is the fact that the mechanism keeps the exact right amount of tension on the leash so slack is taken up but the dog is not restrained unnecessarily. The leash NEVER drags on the ground. The engineers nailed this feature perfectly! As your dog moves closer, slack is taken in. If he moves away, the reel unwinds effortlessly.There is a button to lock the spindle. This can be held temporarily or locked in place indefinitely. With very little practice, you will find yourself using this feature to limit the amount of leash taken out so your dog doesn’t get in a position to wind around a tree or venture where you don’t want him to go.The mechanism is very ergonomic and is super comfortable to carry and use. Yes, it weighs something, but not enough to even lay any mind to. I find the lock controls easy to use. My only complaint is that the lock does not always engage the instant the button is depressed, depending on the reel position and if the spindle is in motion. This is not a major issue, just some to be conscious of…When we first got the Flexi, I was a little surprised how small the webbing ( leash ) material was. But having had to restrain Trooper numerous times, I now have full confidence that it is plenty strong. By the way, Trooper is a 55 pound Lab/Border Collie mix.I am super impressed with how well made this product is and how well it functions.Also, I thought 26 feet was going to be way too long. Boy, was I surprised. I think it’s a great length and I’m so glad I didn’t go with a 15 foot leash instead. By the way, this is not just a 4+ fold increase in freedom. It’s more like a twenty fold increase! That’s because your dog is roaming the area of a circle and is not restricted to a straight line!So in closing, let me just say that the Flexi Giant is a great value which will pay for itself many times over. My only regret is that I didn’t start using one of these a long time ago.

Solid Retractable Leash with Minor Drawbacks
I recently tried out the flexi retractable dog leash with my 45lb standard poodle, and overall, it’s been a positive experience. The leash works effectively for a dog of this size, and I particularly appreciate its practical features.Firstly, the waste bag attachment is incredibly convenient for walks, making cleanup a breeze without the need for additional pockets or bags. The leash’s high visibility color is a definite plus, ensuring safety during nighttime strolls or in busy areas.However, there is one notable downside. Occasionally, the leash strap gets twisted during use, which can hinder smooth retraction. This issue means that the leash doesn’t always roll back up as seamlessly as I’d like after extending it. It’s a minor inconvenience but worth noting.Despite this drawback, the flexi retractable leash remains a solid choice, especially for medium-sized dogs like my poodle. Its functionality and added features outweigh the occasional retraction issue. If you’re looking for a versatile leash with added conveniences, this one is worth considering.

Tried other brands and Flexi is by far superior. Handle is slightly larger than the flexi i bought last year, now i can fit 4 fingers instead of 3. I prefer the tape over rope as it seems more durable. This has a reflective label on both sides that really stands out at night when cars go by. I prefer the braking system on flexi as it is a smooth flat button you depress to stop the tape (momentary). When you let go of the button it releases the tape. There is a recessed lock switch inside the button. Sliding this switch locks/unlocks the brake. This makes one thumb operation effortless. Bought the optional flexi poop bag holder that slides into a groove under the handle. It fits good and dispenses bags easily. Would recommend. We have 4 dogs and about 6 flexi’s of various ages. Others are cheaper, but wont use any other brands but flexi. Had one tape chewed about 2ft from the end. Carefully, using a chisel and a screwdriver, I pryed open the flexi, (they use about 5 or 6 metal pins that are pressed into holes in the plastic shells) cut off the chewed part, put the tape thru the snap and sewed it together on a sewing machine using zigzag. Rewound the spring and squeezed it back together.(lining up the pins and squeeze in a vise) Good as new (except for the chisel marks) and it is shorter now. Will buy again.
