My cats were immediately obsessed with this. Don’t ask me why. Maybe it’s because its a funny looking fish, maybe it’s because it gets really warm and toasty, all I know is my two full grown orange cats pile into this thing like it’s a fancy hotel room. I may have to buy them each one of their own.

Great item for new cats settling in, but pretty small for adult cats
I have somehow purchased this cat bed four times because it keeps being useful for every rescue and intake kitty. Here’s how I’ve been using it:Rescue kittens: When I took in and fostered a few single kittens off the street (their littermates all disappeared, sadly), they were scared and too spicy to handle. This type of product, a covered, plush bed, gives them a dark, warm place to feel secure in, but it also allows you to move the kitten around while they’re still inside. This makes crate cleaning (move them around the crate as you clean), taking them to the vet (use a top-loading carrier and put the bed+kitten inside in one go), and socializing them a lot easier. For socializing, I put the whole bed on my lap and would reach in to pet them. For kittens who weren’t ready to be handled or for eye contact, this was a great way to still expose them to touch. As for kittens who are better socialized, I’d say you’re better off with a more open-style bed than this one for their next level of socialization. For size reference, the kittens I had were 3 months old and I used Medium.Adult cats: This *type* of product is great overall, but this *specific* product itself has a few shortcomings that are obvious when you give it to bigger cats. This bed is on the small side, and the opening/entrance is especially narrow, too narrow for most cats to want to go through. For me, the biggest cat to actually use the size L bed as a covered hideout was a 6-pound foster. My own cats, who are all 8 pounds and above, refuse to go inside, even with treats. However, one creative cat, an injured feral boy who weighed 9 pounds, flattened the round “dome” of the bed and slept on top of it. Since it still helped him stay warm, I don’t regret getting it.For cleaning, I pull out the inner cushion, throw it and the outer bed into the washer, dry them as normal, and it’s been fine. After a few wash cycles, the inner cushion might get lumpy, but you can probably smush it down and make it even again. Cats who are scared will generally burrow underneath the inner cushion anyway, so lumpiness is not a problem. However, the fabric at the very bottom of the bed is pretty thin. One kitten quickly clawed tiny holes through it. I sent that bed with the kitten to her forever home, so I don’t know how well it’s held up. But if it happens again with another cat, another bed, I’ll just add a small towel or blankie to reinforce the bottom.

Comfy with a sturdy build!
Don’t let the compact size fool you when you get it delivered- it is vacuum sealed and will expand and stand upright over an hour or two. It is definitely a sturdy little hideaway that your furball will love! Super soft and comfy!

Kitty’s new nap house
Got the small and it fits my 3 month old kitten great with extra room. it came compactly but fluffed up just fine. The bottom pad needed a little help to get fluffed up but it was no worries. Plus my kittie wants to sleep on his blanket so it was all good. He looks adorable in his little fishy. Lots of comments said it was flimsy but I actually think it’s pretty decently made and have had no issues with sturdiness.

The product is too cute!! Exactly as advertised.The shell is sturdy and lies well on the ground. I added an additional blanket under the pillow for greater comfort.I am surprised to see how quickly my cat settled in and adopted her new bed.She is notoriously difficult so I was apprehensive about buying this product.I do not regret it at all.
