Great puzzle for multiple uses.
My new puppy Ollie loves the rainbow treat puzzle. He will spend some time searching and eating treats, go play with something else, then return to the rainbow treat puzzle. He prefers this over the puzzle dishes. After hiding the dry food, I can spoon on the wet food onto the lick mats. Lick mats are easy to remove and clean, and I have used them in the wash tub while giving Ollie a bath.

Engaging Treat Puzzle for Busy Dogs
This calming rainbow treat puzzle is a delightful way to keep my dog mentally stimulated. The board features different compartments that you can hide treats in, encouraging your pet to use their nose and paws to find them. It’s made of durable plastic that holds up to gentle chewing and pawing without breaking. The bright colors and varied textures make it visually interesting for both pets and humans.Because it’s flat, it doesn’t take up much space and can be stored easily when not in use.I appreciate that it slows down my puppy’s eating because she has to work for each treat.Watching her figure out how to slide and lift the pieces is both entertaining and rewarding. It’s a great boredom buster on rainy days when we can’t spend as much time outdoors.I occasionally freeze some peanut butter in the compartments for an extra challenge and cool treat. The puzzle is easy to clean with warm soapy water after each use.One drawback is that very determined chewers might be able to remove the pieces, so supervision is recommended. It’s suitable for small to medium dogs; larger breeds may find it too easy or knock it around.Overall, this interactive toy provides mental stimulation and a fun way to reward your dog.It would also make a thoughtful gift for fellow dog parents. We use it a few times a week and it still looks like new.

It’s a hit 🐶
My 8 month old pups have enjoyed it so far. They gravitated to the lick mats because they love peanut butter. After that they started to explore the puzzle parts and seemed to like moving the pieces around to find their treats. It kept them entertained for about 30 minutes.

Puppy figured it out quickly!
My puppy figured this out so quickly and he loves it! It’s become our standard feeder since he doesn’t like using a bowl! At first we gets the slides partly open so he could figure out how to slide them and once he got it he now waits patiently as I fill it each feeding!

Reuben approved
We got this as a birthday gift for our Miniature Schnauzer, Reuben. He really enjoys it! It fits his treats, his kibble, chopped carrots, and blueberries well. It takes him quite a while to complete it and he is a lot more mellow afterwards. I would definitely recommend this.

Not my fave to clean, but otherwise, I love it! And so does the pup, of course
Onyx loves him some puzzles. Sometimes we use them for his regular feeding (usually on a snuffle mat) and other times it’s just for mental stimulation. This worked great for the stim type. It’s a good size with a ton of compartments in it to keep him busy for some time.I’ve added 3 pictures to this review. One is of the general setup I use; peanut butter in the lick-mat areas and different kinds of treats in the sliding section. Another is Onyx waiting (im)patiently to be told he can play with it. The last one is Onyx going after it like whoa. He’s pretty smart, and most puzzles don’t take him long at all. The first time he tried this, it took 11 minutes from the moment he was told he was “free” to get after it until the last treat was gone and the lick mats were pretty much clean. For him, that’s great!I did take a star off because I HATE cleaning this. The lick mats are great, they just come right off and are easy to scrub down. It says they’re dishwasher safe, but I’ve not tried that yet. It’s the little compartments that I hate to clean. I’ve yet to find an easy way to do it. It takes me almost as long to wash it as it takes Onyx to play with it.

Our favorite treat puzzle (with lick mats!)
We’ve been trying a lot of treat puzzles, both for stimulation for my dog and also just as slow feeders because he scarfs down even his basic kibble so fast that it sometimes leads to digestion issues. This one I think is my favorite so far, and my dog seems to be enjoying it as well. The Brightkins line does a good job with overall quality and construction of the feeders, as well as the materials they include with tips and suggestions on how to use the feeder to best benefit your dog.The thing that sets this puzzle apart for me is the lick mats. I have two small dogs, and while one doesn’t need a slow feeder and isn’t particularly interested in the puzzle feeder set up, he does enjoy a lick mat. I love that this feeder has two lick mats, so I can even use it for both dogs at once. They are also easy to clean since the lick mats can go in the dishwasher. The puzzle section of this feeder is perfect for our needs as well. The design isn’t the simplest/quickest one to the food (in a good way), but it’s not overly complicated and the pieces don’t get stuck and are easy to move. This is the straightforward cause and effect I look for in a puzzle feeder like this, so that it stimulates my dog and slows him down a little without getting to the point of being overly frustrating or making him just want to chew through the pieces instead of moving them. It’s bigger than some other feeders, which works well for us overall as there are so many more compartments to spread out the food, so it provides a longer feeding/entertainment experience. The one thing I’m not entirely in agreement with is the “slip resistance” description. My dog is 13 years old and under 20 pounds, and this thing slides all over the place when he nudges it. I’m not taking off for that, though, since I’ve found this to be the case with every similar feeder I’ve ever tried, whether it claims to be slip resistant or not. Perhaps it’s our floors, but I’ve just gotten used to positioning these feeders in a corner where they don’t have room to go anywhere… or just going with the flow and letting the dog nose and paw the whole feeder across the room as an added degree of challenge to the feeding process.
