I read the other reviews after I wrote mine, and felt compelled to add to what I’d already written… I don’t know what people are talking about with the litter smelling awful. I’m *really* sensitive to smell. That’s *why* I love this litter so much. If you go two or three days without scooping, the stuff that gets peed on will get a little muddy instead of clumping nicely. But, seriously…as long as you scoop everyday, this is the litter of champions. If you worry that you won’t have the energy to take the scooped litter out to the dumpster everyday (which…trust me, I *totally* understand), just get a little trash bin with a lid, scoop the clumps into a little 4 gallon trash bag, tie it shut, and leave the bags in the bin until you’re ready to take a trip to the dumpster. And, while the litter does track…it doesn’t track any worse than any other litter. Get a $6 utility mat/doormat (they’re way cheaper and more effective than the litter mats sold in pet stores/departments), and it’ll significantly reduce how much litter your cats track. Aaaaand back to my original post…This is a *fantastic* litter if you have multiple cats and/or have to share close quarters with the litterbox. I live in a studio, and I have three cats sharing two litterboxes. So far, this is the only litter I’ve found that can manage the smell. And I’ve tried soooooo many. My cats hated the pine pellets, the crystals turned to sludge in a few days, everything else I have to do a full change in less than a week. 40lbs of this stuff gets me two weeks. And this is the cheapest I’ve found it either online or in any of the stores near me. Everywhere else it’s about $5 more expensive.

I was really happy with this litter
I was really happy with this litter! I spent 5 years loyal to Trader Joe’s pine but no longer live close enough to any stores that carry it, unless I wanted to waste space stockpiling it. I decided to make the jump to clumping litter and ended up choosing this one based on price and reviews. I have 2 very big cats (one over 20 lbs) that are a real challenge for any litter to keep up with, but this did a good job.THE PROS- It comes right to your door within a few days! I hate wrestling 40lb boxes in and out of my trunk and into the house. Love having it just show up.- The smell is strong without being overpowering. I’m not overly sensitive to smells, and their box is in a little half-closet in the laundry room, so the fragrance blended in pretty nicely and was similar to the faint scent of detergent and fabric softener already there.- It works! With two cats using it, I was never able to smell the box from outside the room. With some cheaper plain litters I’d used in emergencies, you could smell the cat pee after only one or two uses. This was good even if I was away and didn’t get to scoop the box for 2 days. No more walking in to dirty cat box smell.THE CONS- It clumped well, but the largest clumps never completely held together. I assume this is because my two cats would pee in almost the same spots and keep them from hardening. Smaller spots were a dream to scoop up easily, but the big ones would often break and take a bit more effort to get everything. Probably not an issue for a house with fewer/smaller cats, or more boxes, or if you’re like me and don’t mind the breaking very much.Overall it’s a really effective litter, and even though you may be able to find some for a little bit cheaper on sale at a big box store, the fact it comes right to my door is more than worth it.

Despite the bad reviews this product have gotten in the past
I did not have the same experience other customers have. I purchased this litter because we are running through quite a lot of it, and having to purchase every week or 2 weeks the 28 lb litter was such a hassle. Despite the bad reviews this product have gotten in the past, I decided to give it a try and I am actually amazed on how great it is. While it has not a distinctive smell by itself compared to the clump and seal from H&A, it does it’s job just fine if not even better. I clean our litter box at least once mostly twice a day, and I have not experienced any leaks or fluid at the bottom of the box. I decided to wait 3 days before cleaning the box just to see if that would change my opinion but it did not. In fact compared to clump and seal, you couldn’t notice any odor or bad smells at all. I would repurchase this product again.One thing I will address here and that’s not the product or sellers fault, at least not directly, I ordered it via amazon for the fact that I would not have to visit our local stores and lift a 40 lb box all by myself. However the delivery guy didn’t bring it to my door, instead delivered it to our rental office. I then ended up carrying that heavy box across our parking lot, down the street to my apartment. Wish there would of been an option that let me chose the delivery service, so I could avoid that kind of problem when it’s shipped via standard/regular mail.
