Buyer be Ware
Jacket sizes run very small. Rains makes it almost impossible to return an item. They do not respond to phone messages nor do they return emails. If you buy something from them, you are stuck with it.

Rains Waterproof Storm Breaker Raincoat, Medium Black
This isn’t a cheap feeling raincoat/jacket. It is thoughtfully and well-made. Pic #1 is the waist cinch cords, there some heft there without being heavy. Pic #2 is the bottom zipper of the hidden zipper, and the nice zipper pull. With these types of zippers, where the material is adhered to the zipper, the zippers often have trouble gliding through.. not on this jacket! The zipper is easy up, and easy down. The sizing for a man appears to be true to size. One thing about this jacket that I dont see on others, the pockets, you have to go in at a bit of an angle because the pocket seam faces the opposite of most pockets, this isn’t a con, it’s a pro, it keeps things from falling out of your pockets, cool feature! The hood fits great and also has a cinch cord. Great rain jacket!

Great quality but strange fit
Rains produces great quality items. I have a backpack from them that I use for commuting in the PNW where it gets very wet for over half of the year and when I saw this coat I was very excited to try it. It’s the same great quality I’ve experienced from them and it does keep me very dry. It’s a thicker material so it also keeps me pretty warm when paired with a sweater and I don’t need to add multiple layers.That said, I think it fits a little weird. I am curvier and I know this is a unisex jacket so obviously it’s not going to be completely fitted to women, but if you are curvier, know that it’s not going to look super flattering on you. But if your intention is to stay dry and you don’t care what you look like, you can’t go wrong with this.

Great, relaxed fit. Well made.
This is a nice lightweight raincoat. It does have a smell when you get it out of the package, so be sure to air it out a bit before wearing it. The fabric is matte, but slick, so rain or water will likely glide right off of it. The lining inside is light, which is great for warm rainy days as not much insulation is needed in that case. The seams are clean and free of unclipped threads, and they seem to be strongly constructed. The zipper is nice as well, it doesn’t get stuck easily. The jacket zips up to the chin, which will be helpful with breaking strong breezes. The length is nice and long so it covers the rear if you need to sit anywhere that is wet and don’t want to soak your pants. It is also unisex, so it looks great on both men and women.

Stylish, Comfortable Rain Jacket with Outstanding Water Repellant Fabric
I am a bit of a “clothes horse” and I love this rain jacket. Wonderful “rubberized feeling” outward facing fabric is strongly water repellant yet very stylish and pleasing to touch. Inner fabric (feels like nylon) is ideal for this application. Zippers of high quality and first rate. It is hooded which will come in handy during very heavy downpours. I not only like the way this jacket feels when I am wearing it, I also like the way it looks. I got two unsolicited compliments about this jacket the very first day I wore it. It is very, very dark navy (almost indistinguisable from black) which I also like. This item exceeded my expectations.

Nice jacket but very overpriced
This had a really funky smell out of the bag and airing it for a few days it’s still hanging around. Maybe that is why the models wearing this clothing all look so bizarre and sour-faced, the smell got to them too. I am concerned wearing this jacket too long may result in me smelling rubbery too. Some of the seams I am concerned might leak as they aren’t finished well. Initial wearing out in a downpour, I stayed dry but very little breathability and felt very clammy.I would not pay full price for this jacket and would probably not order again. There are better options out there for this price tag with far more features and options.
